Why are Drewstown trying to hold a comp on the same day as UL which is a full Fita and the Last opportunity to qualify for the senior Euronations squad. This date has been on the web site since last year. This is not allowed. Drewstown are making a mess of things and not for the first time that someone from Drewstown has done this. We should support UL.

i should clarify some things here, the shoot at drewstown is a social event, there will be a bbq this isnt meant to be a competition but rather a chance for some archers who dont take archery as seriously as others to go out and enjoy themselfs.we understand that there is a shoot on in ul and realise that the top archers will not attend the drewstown event however ,there is beginners in every club and just because there is a top level shoot on dosnt mean there cant be a "Fun" shoot for thoses who donot wish to compete.

thoses who say otherwise i would view as very selfish.in that just because they may be able to achieve the top scores (or distances For that matter) DOESNT MEAN no one else can compete on that day

Why are Drewstown trying to hold a comp

just one last point the drewstown shoot is ment as a CLUB soot, however it was posted here so if anyone who doesnt wish to compete in the ul shoot has the option.

    sorry for any confusion caused.

The notice you put on the web does not say its a fun shoot. Quot "Drewstown Archery Club Hosts its First SHOOT of the season". Iv been to UL in the past with my son and he's a begginer and had fun. I dont know you but you dont seem to know a lot about Fita shoots in Ireland or UL club as they are both fun.

ah howerver on the drewstown archery website gives details of the shoot and bbq aswell.and both your posts semm to highlight that i didnty mention it was a fun shoot even though on the page i have said it in 2 post directly beneath the original one apoligizing for not being more clear in the description of the event.

    Archeryspy.

Please can you stop your childish whining (no insult meant to children) about Drewstown.

Really. Underlined bold red type, and comments like 'This is not allowed'. Is this really necessary ? Or do you think that you may be going a teensy weensy bit over the top about something that shouldn't upset you that much.

This is one of the reasons I left the IAAA. There is always some @ss wipe trying to throw their weight around because they or their club personally "own" archery.

    Grow up.

Since ArcherySpy hasn't taken the matter any further on boards maybe we should leave things be. As many of us have said, we don't want boards (or the IAAA) to turn into a written/verbal name calling match. Critical discussion is grand.

Will leave the thread open if anyone wants to discuss the opening matter - i.e. the Drewstown shoot, but if anyone wants to discuss IAAA policy feel free to open a new thread or use the thread that ArcherySpy opened. But if ye do, then keep the gloves on or use PMs.
