Greetings to all, I picked up an INVION dvd/160gb hdd recorder on ibood.com last year for €99euro, it has analogue & digital (dvb-t) tuners, just last week I bought a digital tv compatible set top antenna in Lidl €9.99 & connected it up to the Invion & set it for automatic scan these are the results, I get perfect reception of rte 1, rte 2 tv3, tg4, I also get on screen channel names & epg for all the bbc's, sky news, sky sport 1, satanta sports 1,satanta golf, uktv history & one or two others, apart from the Irish channels all others say "no signal" although as I said I'm getting the names & epg info, my location is blackhorse ave, off the navan rd Dublin 7, any ideas on how I could pull in the other channels ?
    Thanks

You can't. The stations you are picking up are part of a trial only (i.e. no gurantees whatsoever), and all stations apart from the four you can actually see are encrypted. The official participants in the trial (now long closed to entry) are the only ones who can receive these.

thanks Alun, I understand, I like a challenge ;) ..give me a wee while to sort this. *Update*
a yes the others are encrypted, my tests point towards the (conex) system, their coming in loud and clear now but due to forum rules & watty's bat swinging replies on another related forum here I can't elaborate on how or why, equipment or otherwise

There is no such thing as a "Digital" aerial though. Only good ones and bad ones.

The "trial" won't be around much longer.

There are two kinds of encryption for TV:
    Cheap ones: easily broken
Expensive ones: not broken or not easy to break.
