Telly keeps pausing

Ok this is the crack i have 46 plasma i think sony bravia. i was watching a dvd last night and seemed the disc paused. but tonight the wife tells me it is pausing again. the sound is wired seperate system " sorround sound" and she says this seems to pause too, but not to sure as the pause only last 2 secs. anyone come…

How is the DVD player connected to the TV ? What make/model is it ?

This sounds like the problem to me, maybe the dvd player is getting old or the disc itself is scratched/dirty ?

find exactly where the pause occured and play again, if it happens exactly at same spot more that likely its the disc if not then maybe the dvd player.
