How to mount an M203 on a Dboys M4 A1?

Wasn't sure where to ask this, I have an M4 A1, as some of yous know, well, all of a sudden I have this urge to stick either a long or short M203 launcher on it. So how or where do I get the rails required to do the job? and if I'm not using the M203 I fancy the idea of a verticle foregrip as an option also. I use a mini 8.4 battery as std. and I don't fancy the idea of having to mod anything to much, would prefer a rail system that just kinda replaced the standard foregrip without to much hassle.

I have looked about a bit but would appreciate some solid advise on this as to which systems work best and who does them. Thanks in advance guys.

    Iceage.:)

you can buy the 200 rail to screw into your own front grip or else you couls change the whole front grip for the RIS ones., i think they have them on ebaybanned., :)

I considered trying to screw rails onto it but wondered would the original plastic fore grip take the strain? its not the tightest toughest plastic anyway.

Maybe the RIS is the way to go... will check out ebanned, cheers Vtec:D

I'm assuming by your post you don't already have rails on your M4. In which case you have one of two options. You either get the m203 that hangs from the barrel or you buy a RAS.
The "hanging" 203 goes on over the front of the barrel and clamps to the back. to fit it you need to remove the bottom half of the handguard. A pain if that's where you're battery is.

The RAS option is probably a better, if more expensive, choice. Basically have a snoop around for an M4 RAS/RIS front end that you like the look of (7inches or thereabouts is the M4 size) and replace your foregrip with it. Then you can use the rail mountable m203. Of course, there's an added cost in getting the RAS and the m203 together but having the RAS will allow you to use a vertical foregrip or any other of the shiny, bolt-on gadgets available for RAS/RIS rails.

Again, if your battery is located in the foregrip, you'll have a harder search for a RAS that will hold the battery too. The alternative, for either of the above options, is using a Crane stock and a Crane stock battery, or a Full stock and a large battery. It's yet another part to buy if you don't have it but it does also help to balance the rifle. Especially with a heavy 203 on the front.

I believe those hanging M203's are a real pain, so a front RIS set up as you mentioned might be the way to go...thanks Dex.

Ooooh a project!!! nice one, see I'm getting a bit cocky after taking my one apart to sort that selector problem, which you told me how to sort out!!
More thanks for Vtec! ;) so far it hasn't let me down, and I actually tightened the one on it and have a spare if it totally fails, tryed that KA ambi mag release, kinda did/didn't work so waiting for a Dboy version of the same, on its way from RSOV! if it ever arrives....will see how that pans out.

my mag release works perfectly, this is the one i got,
    http://cgi.ebay.com/G-P-M-Series-MULTI-MAGAZINE-CATCH-for-Marui-AEG-GP535_W0QQitemZ270225411354QQihZ017QQcategoryZ64635QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

only problem being that i have good gun handling habbits so my finger rests on the body until im gonna shoot something,.,:D only problem there being that it sits right on te mag release resulting in some slightly embarrasing moments when the mag falls out, every 10mins., lol.,
i sorted that with a sniper trigger gaurd thingy though, now my finger rests there instead, very simple, but effective, :)

Dont use the screw on rails, dont use a two piece ris.

Both rely on your delta ring (dboys one is ****e) to hold em on.

Get a one piece ris front end, hopefully thats what richies one is.

Is a very good madbull one.

But vtec's ris front end will probably do the job too, and save you some money.

Thats no good for supporting an m203 though, it is heavy and will strain the handguard, it will pop off.

The point is the handguard itself can hold it on well, you need a one piece screw on ris.

Wow, man I was thinking of that, but was wondering would it hold the m203..I'm told its a bit to heavy, cheers for the pics though:D

i suppose it really depends on the gun, a sportline has a really sturdy grip so that'd be fine id say, i dunno about the Dboys ones though., the ones i have is a 2 piece CQB RIS front rail, id say it could take 4 M203s on it and still hold up.,:D

I dont trust my dboys grip to stay on on its own, let alone holding it.

    Its taped on :D

you wouldn't have a linky to that? see, this is all my fault, reading "the one that got away"! and I'm sure as billio Shiva had a pic of something similar!!!!
    Ooooooh it was pretty!!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,397 ✭✭✭Evolute

Well I stuck an m203 on it and shook it around and it seemed sturdy enough granted if ya fell right on top of it I would say it would break but for a cheap option it aint too shabby doesnt look to bad either

Cheers Evolute, funnily enough I have a couple of spare rails off a UMP of mine, I might give that a go.. and sure if it doesn't work I'll use cable ties!!! they're the solution to all our Airsoft troubles!!

    So true its not funny

if it moves and it shouldn't -> duck tape
if it doesnt move and it should -> wd40 (silicone oil in the case of airsoft)

i was thinking about putting a m203 on my m4 when i got it so i boutght this fore end

    http://www.rsov.com/product/105_158_160/521/p_ACM-M4-CQB-conversion-kit-M-13.html

its metal and solid just havnt got round to getting the m203 yet:(this kit also has the bonus of coming with a silencer (that actually works:))

i also got a PEQ box and rewired my battery to go it to it as you can see in the pic of the final product.

    hi all

i am going to order one of these at some stage over the next few weeks

    http://www.rsov.com/product/0/1397/p_ACM-full-metal-M203-grenade-launcher-short.html

its a rail mounted launcher i know its a cheapo one, what i am waiting on is to find out when the acm grenades will be in stock on rsov,

has anyone seen them for sale online yet? i want to buy two or three of them i cant justify buying the more expensive versions, the price of 2-3 of them would buy you a couple of aegs!

these cheap ones should be grand

    ta

    John

Dont bother with the acm shells.

They are too crap, king arms ones are the same price, but a bit dodge, madbull ones are top notch apparently.
