Looking for a bit of advice. I have to do a photoshoot from a light aircraft in a couple of days. Its of a piece of ground approximately 2km square.

Having never done this before, I'm wondering what lens is suitable for this task. I've no idea how high or low the aircraft goes which obviously is a big factor. I'm thinking mid-range zoom (70-200) but that could be totally wrong.

I'm only going to get a max of two runs over so I don't want to be messing around changing lenses if possible. Anyone that has experience of doing this, feedback would be much appreciated.

Somebody was actually doing this before and got a good few replies IIRC. Try searching the forum for it. Its well before Christmas I think though!

For 2KM you'd probably need a wider lens.
I'd go with a small aperture too.
You should get away with a low ISO, depending on the weather.
What are the pictures going to be used for?
This will be important, when considering your settings.

Thanks for the responses. Its a loose surface race track in a quarry, photos for web use, but also to print A4 size. We will highlight the actual race track route on the photos afterwards as there are lots of different routes throughout the quarry.

Thinking about it further will probably go with either a 16-35 or 24-70 on a 1DII and 70-200 on a 20D. Don't think I would need a bigger zoom than that (320 mm on the 1.6 crop on the 20D).
