According to a news item on LordsofPain.net April 19, The Ultimate Warrior will be making his in ring return June 25 in Barcelona, Spain. In his first match in over ten years, The Ultimate Warrior will take on NWE Champion Orlando Jordan. The news of his return to action has been confirmed by his agent.

He has to be a bit past it now

Interesting that Jordan is wrestling in Spain now.

He was never Shawn Michaels to begin with. I'm sure he can still do all the old Warrior sports (clothes lines, shaking ropes, general running, splash and press slam).

His body might be a bit different however. Or maybe not.

It's been mentioned a few times recently by the Wrestling Observer that Spain is experiencing a bit of a boom at the moment in regards to wrestling. Spanish wrestling promotions are getting over 10,000 people to their shows

I wonder if WWE is still planning on creating a european territory?

They could have some ready built stars in spain. Of course, if TNA had any savvy, they'd try to strike some partnership deal with the spanish company and establish a foothold

10,000 sounds a bit much now that I think about it. I think NWE (the promotion with Warrior) got 10,000 at a recent show and other promotions are getting between 3-4,000. Whatever the number, they're getting a lot of fans to the shows at the moment

NWE has a lot of former WWE wrestlers at their shows though, it's not like it's European wrestlers who WWE could sign. Guys like Rikishi, Booker, Orlando Jordan, Heidenreich, Juventud Guerrera, Chris Masters, Ultimo Dragon, Vampiro, Raven and one of the Heart Throbs. I think the only other wrestler I've seen named at their shows is Matt Cross, a ROH guy who's a lot smaller than WWE likes their wrestlers

I can't believe he came down to the ring in a suit! You think he would have made at least some sort of effort to look like the warrior.

Why? People are going to have to pay for the "privelge" of seeing it. If he had come down in all the gear, you've virtually seen the act. This way, they get 2 events out of Warrior as a draw.

Plus, it didn't fit in the angle from the video I saw as he was saying that his time as the Warrior was over.

Well look at it this way. Imagine if stone cold or something appeared at an Ireland show in a suit. Don't tell me you wouldn't be like WTF? The whole thing about wanting to see the warrior is because it would be a nostalgia buzz but thats not gonna happen when he comes to the ring in a suit.

He was there to get an award or something. These days a suit is what Warrior wears when he makes appearances. He doesn't wear face paint. Austin wears jeans and a t-shirt in public, would you find it strange if he turned up to an Irish show wearing that if he was only getting an award?

Well Austin wore jeans and a t-shirt on TV alot so it would be cool with me if he arrived at a wrestling show like that.

The warrior that wears the suit is the conservative warrior that makes video blogs on the net. The wrestling warrior is the crazy guy that wears facepaint etc. I find it gas that people are grand with the idea of warrior coming into the ring in a suit. It just doesn't look right.

thats the thing tho he wasnt the Warrior he was Brian James Hellwig and even stated that his time as The Warrior was over. That was until Orlando Jordan starts acting like a jackass and we see that under that suit the heart of a Warrior still beats and im sure when the actual fight comes around the suit will be gone and the face-paint donned.

or atleast that was the idea behind the segment imo

+1, didnt look the part without it. I wonder if they will have it at the next show or is it WWEs?

I thought he was doing college tours and giving out about gay people these days?

I was a massive Warrior fan when I was a kid, so I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, it will be a good nostalgia trip if he does the whole nine yards (music, running to the ring, shaking the ropes, etc.), but on the other hand I don't like being reminded how much he actually sucked as a wrestler, and if he was bad when he was at the height of his fitness I can't imagine how bad he will be now (why won't people leave my childhood memories alone?!)

Should be good for a laugh either way though

Well, the last match of his I saw was at WCW Halloween Havoc 98 against Hogan, he'd done jack sh*t in the guts of two years prior to that match. It was god awful. I can't imagine he'd be much better ten years on.

    VR!

Orlando Jordan a champion? :D Also that rope shaking at 2:12 was ridiculously bad :D It just looks wrong without the facepaint and hair.

hmm I agree with Nice guy, that was cringe worthy to watch....I recall reading not to long ago, him going on about how warrior was a part of his life that no longer exists etc, he had moved on!...

He must be stuck for cash! :D

Those ring ropes looked fairly loose.

Orlando Jordan had a bad run in wwe, I know he was us champ, but they really really buried him.

Kind of ironic that he's facing Orlando so :)

I heard he changed his name to warrior, that's hardly moving on :D

I lived there last summer and Wrestling is huge . This is also due to the amount of south americans that have moved there.

well let me 'phrase' it a bit better then......he left the 'ulitmate warrior' character and 'wrestling' behind!

on a sidenote, on wrestling in Spain, I was watching Smackdown on tv there last summer and it appears that they're a coupla months behind.. either that or they show re-runs of old shows, which seems odd. It was quite strange cos I switched the tv on to and Benoit was wrestling MVP... and this was in August I think.... :S

I wonder does warrior warrior know about Orlandos sexuality?

If Warrior has been on an anti-homo campaign, then Orlando is being a model pro agreeing to work with him.

I didn't know Orlando is gay, but if he and he has seen this I'm surprised he is working with Warrior tbh

The Ultimate Warrior is making the media rounds this week and was a guest on the BJ Shea Morning Experience radio show on 99.9 KISW in Seattle this morning. The full interview can be heard here. Warrior is known for his jaw-dropping comments and this interview had a few nice ones. Here's what the Ultimate Warrior would like to see at next year's WrestleMania:

"You know what man, next year is Wrestlemania XXV. You know when it's your 25th wedding anniversary, you gotta do something that is significant. You gotta do something that stands out from all the other anniversaries. McMahon vs. Warrior--Wrestlemania XXV...that would be awesome! Instead of our weird attitudes towards one another, let's let it out!

In other words: "I could really use that pay cheque!"

Actually, I would like to see that match, but only to see Vince go over clean in under a minute.
