Don't know of you were there but Elbow's triumphant return to Vicar St last night was incredible. A great set, largely culled from the new album Seldom Seen Kid, Guy Garvey and co clearly enjoying themselves. I saw them there two years ago, and while it was good then, it felt a bit like we were all getting to know each other, but last night they got a hero's welcome, and a lot of love in the room.:D:D:D

    Any Boardsie's there?

Loved it - was very close to crying off as it was a Monday night but I'm so glad I didn't. Saw them at the EP the year before last and they were superb. Even better last night. What a voice Guy Garvey has. Brilliant Gig.

Nearly cried off myself for the same reason. Brought two mates who didn't know their stuff at all and they were bowled over. Sooooo glad I went, it has put me in a seriously good mood!

Agree about Guy's voice, just sublime - the banter is pretty good too.

My boyfriend lived in Manchester for a few years and went to probably a dozen Elbow gigs - he said it was one of the best ones he's been to.
I'm so surprised they aren't bigger then they are. Still plenty of tickets left last night for the gig. Our gain I suppose as it was a fantastic atmosphere last night. Still humming Thin Lizzy though ;)

Yeah, excellent Gig! was right on the barrier and shook hands with the man! Her-indoors even managed a peck on the cheek

Garvey is an excellent front-man too, great banter, great atmosphere, great music - especially loved the trumpets on the opening 'Starlings'

It's a slow burn I guess. The venue was fuller (and buzzier) than last time in Vicar St. I've spent the last couple of years thinking I was the only Elbow fan in Dublin, glad now that I'm not!

I can see One Day Like This being a big hit on the festival circuit this summer.

The boys are back in town indeed!

vicar street was jammed. making my seated vantage splendid.

i thought they were excellent. i only have the first two albums, and know the hits of the others, but i was entertained througout. and they just seem like a bunch of good lads.

drummer was amazing as he is on the records. really glad i went.
new born was brilliant. man, i really enjoyed that gig.

grace under pressure may have changed my outlook on life.

I went too, had a brilliant time! First time seeing Elbow live and they blew me away. I was sure Guy was singing to a backing track at first, then I heard his voice crack a bit. He has a sublime voice. And what a nice man, too!

Check out his radio show every Sunday night from 10pm on bbc.co.uk/6music !

Oh and I would have said Vicar Street was pretty much sold out. Downstairs was jammed and there was some free seats on the balcony but they could have been no-shows..

third time seeing them, and each time they top the last
mark potter is a very under rated guitarist,he was only savage!
it's rare to find a band who can do subtle stuff so well, and yet rock out when appropriate!

why didn't I go to this gig, why didn't I go to this gig, why didn't I go to this gig, why didn't I go to this gig, why didn't I go to this gig, why didn't I go to this gig,.............:(:(

I'll wait for the live dvd. I remember a few years ago I was walking down the street, in the centre of Manchester, and waiting at the red light to cross, and yer bass player from Elbow was beside me. So I think "there's the bass player from Elbow", and kind of followed him down the street, and got money out of an ATM beside him and all.. Then I thought, "you fool" , and I walked off...
