hi.

I'm looking for a Wii for my g/f and I'm wondering what the best bundle is to get and the best place to get it.

ideally I'll be wanting to get the Wii itself, 2 controllers, the Wii fit board and also Wii sports initially.

I'm also thinking Super Mario Galaxy too seeing as it seems to be the best game for the Wii right now.

thanks in advance. :)

I don't think there are any Wii bundles, Vibe. I haven't seen any, anyway.

You can get a bundle in Gamestop with the WII, Sports, Mario Kart (with wheel), some family game (which you can trade in immediately) and €100 worth of money off vouchers for €349.

I took the plunge and instead of getting that bundle they worked up another option for me where I took some 2nd hand stuff (all with the same 1 year gaurantee) so I paid €485 for

Wii
Wii Sports
Mario Kart (with wheel)
Pro Evo '08
Two extra Wiimotes
Two extra Nunchuks
€300 worth of money off vouchers (the usual get €5 off when you spend €40 etc)

I'm not sure whether that's a good deal in the market or not, but I was happy enough with it.

now if I could just avoid getting hit by blue shells in mario kart it would almost be perfect!

Shopping around would probably be the best option. I've noticed wildly varying prices on the Wii, the games and remotes. If you go for smaller companies you should be able to get a discount. Just stay away from big international companies as they just can't give you any discounts.

Not a great deal at all, you were robbed, especially with 2nd stuff included, what was the 2nd hand stuff you got ?

I know that in Game in Newry, up the north you can get the following all new for £358 which works out at €445:
• Nintendo Wii Console with Wii Sports
• Game Party
• Rayman Raving Rabbids 2
• Mario Kart Wii with Official Wii Wheel
• Wii Play with Wii Remote
• Joytech Wii Controller Grip
• Official Wii Remote & Nunchuk Controller
• Official Nunchuk Controller

With Game your getting an extra 3 games & a controller and your saving €40

zavvi(in cork at least) have the wii with a free select game for 250 euros. list of games i think are sonic, no more heroes and something else! think for an extra 10 euro you can get any game you want.

I had a long list of stuff I wanted, extra remotes, nunchuks, mario galaxy and cables. Couldn't find a bundle that came close (I dont want 4 or 5 games I'm never gonna play). Got on Adverts.ie and got nearly €500 worth of gear off a fella for €290, it was all immaculate, in perfect nick and hardly used. I'm very happy.

Check it out.

€335 gets you Console + any game + Official WiiMote + Nunchuck in Xtra-Vision. Sweet Deal IMO, pity I went to HMV grrr...

I was just looking in the UK zavvi online store and I can get the following:

Nintendo Wii Console And Controller And Wii Sports Game (Nintendo Wii) x1 £179.00
Wii Nunchuk Controller (Nintendo Wii) x2 £15.00
Wii Play And Wireless Remote (Nintendo Wii) x1 £30.00
Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo Wii) x1 £32.00

Total £271.00 = €337.88 (at todays exchange rate).

I was contemplating going up north sometime in the next few weeks anyway, so if I'm there anyway I might as well get it then.

between wii sports and wii play, that's 14 games (well, gamelets, but you know what I mean). afaik from the 25th the wii fit is going to be £60 too so that's only €415 all in. now that IS a sweet deal.

Just bear in mind that when you buy Wii Play, you're buying the Wiimote (and getting a free game). The game itself will be played for no more than an hour (tops). Thats my experience anyway.

yeah, but it's only £5 more than the wiimote on it's own, so i figured why not. have young nieces who will want to play with them anyway so it'll be worth it for that i think.

i got my numbers right on wiimotes & nunchucks didn't i? console comes with 1x wiimote, so need 1 more wiimote and 2 nunchucks for 2 complete sets. with that i can have proper 2 player full on action or 4 player with one yoke each?

The console comes with 1 wiimote and 1 nunchuck.
So Wiiplay + one nunchuck will give you 2 complete sets...

I barely got 10mins out of wii play, your nieces might get more out of it though.

thanks Mr E, the way the advert was reading it didn't come with any nunchucks.

XtraVision have a bundle.

Wii Console (including Remote and Nunchuck with Wii Sports) + extra Remote and Nunchuck + any game (I got Mariokart with wheel) for €344.99
