Been listening the past few weeks and have to say they are sounding really well music wise. Hate some of the vo work on the promo's with a passion though. Very false sounding.

Who is looking after music and the day to day running since the departure of Mr Saddler??

Well, Bono has 2 lines, and Boyzone & Irish passport holder Shane McGowan have one each, so even Leaving out Huey Morgan (who qualifies to play for the Irish Football team :D) and the 3 members of the Visual Ministry Choir with Irish parentage, it's still more Irish than some local station's Irish playlists . (David Gray? Charlie Lansboro? Irish Me arse.)

(But I get your point. )

Ronan Keating is in there too IIRC and Q102 are only following difficult BCI regulations on Irish music. ;)

I've love to know how someone has David Gray down as Irish??

Didnt some station try to argue with the BCI that "My Heart Will Go On" by Celine Dion to have Irish content cause it was about the Titanic and that was built in Belfast.

Or is that just Urban Legend?

If you go to the effort of looking there is probably a clause in there to say that music can reflect the history of Ireland... The Titanic is part of Ireland's history.

Now I am speaking from a music programmer's point of view but it's all about being creative with the rules. ;)

Yes it is worded in some wanky ol' way...can't find the exact text now, but something along the lines that the music should reflect the traditions and heritage of Ireland.

So it's very much open to programmers being, as you put it, creative with the rules.
