There is a special interests group in Macs organised in Dublin - see ClubMac if it suits.

If you ask me, we should bring all our Mac's to Kerry for the weekend; they deserved the break!

Screw those guys. We can have our own meetings in Cork/Kerry. With blackjack. And hookers.

Do I have to take a hooker though? Girls don't float my boat :pac:

Yeah why don't ye all take a road trip? Much more fun. I'll teach ye a thing or two :D

I wouldn't mind one of these meet-up things.
Dublin or Cork is fine for me.
    I float both ends up.

I think joining Club Mac is the most logical thing though.

see......rollo makes a good point, club mac is already there and does monthly meets, talks etc.

though i'd be up for a boards meet irrespective

    does club mac have workshops?

it looks to me like club mac only caters for the mac user who already knows it all?

    or am i wrong?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 549 ✭✭✭WUSBDesign

Try posting a query on the ClubMac board and see what they say...From the online "minutes" of the meetings, it appears they do discuss general topics of all sorts. Failing that, you should still be able to get hold of a few acquaintances who are Mac "old-timers".

Only problem - you've got to pay a token sum to attend the meetings - but I may be wrong.

I went to one of those ClubMac meetings once.

It was held in some cricket club way over on the South side of the city. Seemed like a fairly old crowd as well.

I see Richard Bannister is involved though... doesn't he do the conversion of the video game emulators for the mac?

Bollox to meeting minutes and token gestures! Id be more into an informal meet up, few beers (avoid spilling on macbook!) and plenty of, "cool whats that app do?" questions! :)

Tbh while it's a good idea I'm doubtful there'd be the numbers or regularity (or sobriety) for a workshop to really benefit anyone. This forum is already a kind of cyber-workshop and is probably enough for most people.
