    Hey,

has anyone else had a problem port forwarding using a belkin g+ mimo router. I am trying to get it setup for uTorrent. I have enabled a static ip on my laptop, and have set the port on the router to forward to this address, but no luck. I know all the settings on the wireless connection are good because I am online. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Try downloading a well seeded torrent such as an ubuntu iso and see does the status in uTorrent change. I remember having some similar issue where i had set it up but it still said NAT issues or something like that...

I have been connecting to torrents with 2500+ seeds. I know the ip is not being forwarded as when I test it using a DSL speed test, 'the port is not open'.

Have you got UPnP switched on?

    Darragh

Disclaim: I know it can be risky but I'm presuming virus scanner / malware protection

Have you got the port accessible on your local PC? I.e. if you have a personal firewall running, is it allowing connections in to the relevant port? (Bear in mind that modern anti-virus software with 'worm blocking' techniques can behave like a basic firewall)

i had this happen before where the dsl port test would say it was not open when it was.
try the test with port 80, which you defo know is open, then you will know if the test is accurate or not.....

Port 80 will only be open if he's running a web server. Not likely.
