Sky + Not showing some channels

    Hi

Just the other week, my uncle got Sky + and Multi room to another room (Standard encoder in there) installed with a Quad LNB.

All the channels work fine, however occasionally Channel 4, RTE 1 and RTE 2 and one or two other terrestrial channels will show as 'Sattelite signal is not being recieved' If you change to any other channel bar these ones it works fine, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the actual signal thats coming into the house. I don't think its the decoder either. If, say RTE1 stops on the + box, it also stops on the normal box too, which would rule out a faulty card or faulty decoder, as it happens on both. I've run a system test and it shows as 99% ish signal strength.

As there is no obvious problem with the boxes, cards or dish and signal coming in, I think that this is down to the signal that is being broadcast by sky. Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be? There's nothing affecting the line of sight of the dish either.

I'd say it's possibly dish alignment. What's the Signal Quality like? Signal Strength isn't a great indicator at all.

Thats whats confusing. The picture is perfect on every single channel. No interference at all. Sometimes the message about satelite signal. I rebooted the decoder once and that worked, but I'm hesitant if that is the actual cause though

Would RTE work grand and stop of its own accord, or is it a case of watching say Sky News, and when you switch to RTE it's potluck as to whether it works or not?

It's quite possilby an LNB fault, not switching properly

It stops of its own volition, without switching the channel. You could be watching the news or something on RTE 1, and suddenly the screen goes blue and the message pops up.
