Anyone out there fans of Exploitation flicks? Chambara, Shaw Brothers, Blaxploitation, etc etc? For anyone that doesn't know, Exploitation is a genre of films that usually includes wanton violence, nudity and ****ty...****ty acting.

Exploitation films rely heavily on the lurid advertising of their content rather than the intrinsic quality of the film.

Sounds like most Hollywood films that have come out in the last 20 years!

Huge fan of exploitation cinema. Particularly like Martial Arts (Im a massive Shaw Bros fan), Chambara, Spahetti Westerns, carsploitation and horror (espeicialy Zombie films). I initially got into it after seeing Kill Bill (didnt even know what an exploitation film or a grindhouse was before that) so being a huge exploitation and Tarantino fan "Grinsdhouse" the film was a bit of a wet dream for me, saw the full thing the weekend and I thought it captured the experience perfectly.


Really fascinating scene and its even starting to get a lot more attention in academic circles. When you think about it a lot of the stuff that originated in the grindhoouses and drive-ins have now past into mainstream filmaking with people like Jackie Chan/Jet Li and the so called "torture porn" films. Some of them are just bloody good films as well. Two Lane blacktop and Fight for your life, El Topo are fcking great films and some of the shaw bros films like 36th chamber of shaolin and eight diagram polefighter are really impressive. What I really like about the films though is that they are just so different to what we get today, they have so much character to them and are so distinctive, completely different to the homogenous stuff thats churned out today. Dont get me wrong there's a lot of sh1t out there. But it can be really rewarding finding a great exploitation film unlike anything you have ever seen that nobody knows about:D

The last one is the best place on the net to get exploitation films. Its an absolute treasure trove and has stuff that nowhere else has. Prices are reasonable and delivery is quick and reliable too.

I highly recommend the book "sleazoid express" by Bill Landis to anyone interetsed.

Toxic Avenger!

I mean, you can't exceed quality of that standard. Toxic Avenger IV is one of the best films I've ever seen in my life; pensioners are crushed to death in graphic detail in hit and runs, a school for the handicapped is taken hostage and it's students mown down by a maniac with an m-60, abortion is ridiculed in the most offensive way possible....amongst others.

A modern day classic destined to stand the test of time and morals.

I thought the exploitation/grind house was best done by the yanks.

Last House on the Left (piss your pants)is one of my fave horror/explotation movies and there are countless others that I get a major kick out of.It truly is the definition of so bad its good.


For nunsploitation+nazisploitation its very hard to look past the Italians though.
