    :(

edit: in the eyes of paddy power officials would creating new accounts to stir it up in a thread discussing moral and ethical issues be classified as immature or is that having some level of cop? Just you know i hear paddy power employees are into that

quite harsh imo.. it is on a public recreational forum that you posted this add afterall, you have to expect at least a few passing comments not taking it seriously..

BCB - I'll PM you later on so and perhaps you can further inform me on the position etc etc.

And to the forum: Any would-be employer has the right to dismiss a person out of hand on the grounds of repeat behaviour not in keeping with associated job norms. That society demands a softly softly approach helps nobody. I'd rather be told that I'm not suitable for any given position on certain grounds than simply be told 'sorry but the position is now filled. Please feel free to apply for further positions as they might become available' when any such applications would find their way all too quicklyto a shredder.

'Pick me' is hardly the greatest of selling points when Niall clearly outlined an extensive array of job related information. Especially when the thread in question is one of a serious nature.

This, in stark contrast to the request for Irish Open bloggers which would, in part, require a flair for light hearted brevity. I myself knew that I was unlikely to get that position, not because I lack writing skills (because I have those in abundance) but because I readily admitted that my immediate knowledge of the Irish Poker scene was currently limited. I don't play enough live poker anymore to recognise many other than the Cork high rollers and Collette, who we like to feel is an honourary Corkwoman since her wit is razor sharp, and she's always quick to make one feel at home at any poker table.

Wow - haven't I managed to prattle on at length... Watching Boston Legal at the moment so my posts don't feel right unless they're Alan Shore-esque in duration.

Hmmmm a touché is in order?

Was on the phone to Niall, my quiz team compatriot, as I typed. Perhaps that contributed to the spoonerism.

You have to admire them Paddy Power fellahs. Post a top job on an online forum, a poker forum at that, frequented primarily by degenerates and wannabees, and people who stay up till 6 in the morning; and then expect a serious candidate to come forward.

I'd be very surprised if a serious candidate didn't come forward. I just wouldn't expect them to post about it here.

by the way, I have a job, so I'm not grovelling.
