When the football season is over in a couple of weeks I was thinking of cancelling Setanta, Sky sports & Movies for the Summer. I only subscribed to Setanta a few months ago and seem to remember a mention of 10 euro change for cancellation. I'm just wondering if anyone can verify this and if there are similar charges for cancelling Sky sports and movies ?

Can't find any relevant info on the upc website obviously as thats how its designed  Will ring them eventually but I prefer to know where I stand before I talk to upc on the phone.

No chief. I do it every season with Sky Sports. In fact you will probably find the opposite when you mention the word cancel, they'll prob offer them to you at a reduced price ;)

Hi, last Christmas I signed up for sky sports on ntl/upc. I only wanted it for the Christmas season and I asked could I cancel after one month. I was told yes - this was possible - and to be sure to cancel on the renewal date to minimise cost for myself - that way it would not run on into another month.
At the end of the month I rang to cancel and was advised that there was a charge - € 20 I think. I queried this and was told that it was new policy.
Needless to say I was not impressed and told the person dealing with me that in that case I would cancel the whole lot - all tv and broadband. To do that she advised me that she had to get clearance from a supervisor and after a little while she came back to tell me that she had made a mistake - there was no cancellation charge after all.

    So just be careful!

I just cancelled Sky sports, movies and setanta with no problems. I was all ready for an argument about cancellation fees but no mention. :)
