Portfolio Advice for Film&TV Production?

I'm planning on applying for Film & Television Production in Dun Laoghaire as a mature student next year. Does anyone currently in this or a similar coarse have any advice for me? Thanks Brian

I'm doing Communications in DCU. It's similar in content to the Film&TV Production in DL, theory based in first year but practical in second and third. Just so you know it's an option if you want to bypass the portfolio process.
