just wondering if anyone has any advice or has had the same problem

    - always happens towards the end of the card, the last few frames cant be copied across to the computer but can bee seen on the screen on the camera.

-sometimes, there are frames after it so its not always the very last files on the card

-sometimes its 1 shot , sometimes 3 shots , last time it happened it was 10, and there's 2 i really like in there id like to get out

-its not that i turn the camera off or open the card door, im real careful about that as i originally thought tha was the problem

    - card is a legit sandisk extreme 3 2gb card, im pretty sure its not the card cos i have them numbered and almost certain its happened on more than one card

it prol sounds silly, but can you wear out a card over time?

would updating the fireware help at all

    anyone with suggestions?

    TIA

That happened me on my 40D too. It worked perfectly fine for 7 months with no issues, and then one weekend it happened to 2-3 images. I ended up connecting the camera to the PC and using the USB cable to copy over the images.

It happened 3 times in one week, with similar issues.

    Then, the problem disappeared.

I've done nothing different, and all my cards are genuine Sandisk Extreme IV cards.

    Weird.

Hmmm, a friend of mine bought a 30D over in the states the other week, and it seems to be corrupting everything she puts in it... I've been blaming her, but I tried putting a card into it myself, formatted it, took one photo, and it corrupted.

All cards are genuine Sandisk or Kingston...

Maybe there's a firmware update for the 30D that resolves the issue?

Check the Canon site, and update to the latest firmware. If it still causes problems, I'd contact the store you got the camera from and maybe send it back.

    Weird problem though.

I had two Kingston cards that gave similar trouble to this and I ended up throwing out the cards.
