I have tired a few programs,, card recovery, recover my photos, disk doctor, and pc inspector smart recovery. they all came up with 172 files apart from the disk doctor which gave 184 as the result, but couldn't see them unless i bought a licence code. i think there should be a lot more files, recommend any more please????

Looks like you're having a similar problem to me! The program mentioned in this thread called ZAR might work. It's free to find pics so therefore allows you to see any pics found.

edit: here's a link to download the program:

Do you think you're missing 12 extra photos?

no, even more than that, maybe 30? cant understand why, cause it was all the same memory card, same camera etc. the only thing is they would be the earliest ones taken if that makes a difference? i have got one of the 30 i am expecting from a trip away

Two more 100% free apps include:

Data Recovery (Choose the option to select all areas/sectors) Link

Recuva (From the guys who brought you CCleaner) Link

    Are you in Dublin?
I have BadCopy Pro which is usually good at rooting things out even when deleted - you're welcome to come try and see what we can dig up.
What type of card is it?
