    Hey guys.

Was thinking of investing in a vest, but have nothing to go on in terms of quality, storage capacity etc.

I don't want to go too mental price wise (maybe 50-70€) but some advice would be welcome!

Looks good but doesn't seem to offer much in terms of protection.

Surely there's nothing wrong with a bit of padding?

some people say it stops you feeling a hit and sure a bb doesnt hurt so its

    pretty redundant:)

I agree with blay here. Padding may be needed for paintball but it's really not for airsoft. During the summer some people even play in tshirts. An army shirt/jacket really does suffice for protection.

If you're concerned about pain/marks to the skin, the only place you have to be worried about bbs hitting is your face. Which a full face mask will protect from.

Just thought I'd mention BE-X Combat TYR vests even though they cost €85. They're new I beleive but damn they give a hell of a lotta capacity. They'll take nearly any mag out ther including UMP and MP5s wihtout a bother(12-16 of them!!!). They may even take P90 ones though that has to be checked.

Might be worth the extra cash for it as you're unlikely to ever need a second:D

    Where do we find them?

i have that viper one from eirsoft too,
have to say though, its a great vest for the price, it has 2 larger than they look dump bags on the sides where i could easily hold a 6000 bottle of BBs yesterday, each dump bag has a pouch for mags on it too and then the ones on the front of it (about 4-5 i think). i wouldnt reccomend using too much padding since it restricts your ability to move around quickly and can make shouldering an AEG pretty awkward with some, i cant comfortably hold my M4 with crane stock on my old vest since it covers more of the shoulder than the new one.,

That's what I thought vtec, I don't want to inhibit mobility, that's why I was looking at that one, but somethign that concerned me about the viper one is how all the bags seem to be stuffed into the same area (on the main straps) which I thought could restrict movement around those areas.
That's why I was looking at the one on airsofteire, it seems alot thinner.

I agree, it seems to me that the vests with themain brunt of storage at the stomach/waist would be less conducive to skirmishing than the ones that have pouches etc all over the chest area. Am I wrong?

That looks like a cracking vest(BE-X Combat TYR) and a mate of mine has a viper and he swore it was the biz, although its now for sale on Ebay!

Tough one whe it comes to vests. If you had the chance to maybe try them on, it can be a very personal thing when using these. Is there anyone yoy know who has a Viper say, so you could try it?

there a host of nice ones of ehobby asia for great prices, i was looking at a few sexay ones that were coming to 35 euro incl shippin, defo worth a look considering the varying styles, they have this cool one that looks like the one arnies uses in commando... defo gna get it

im just not arsed gettting a link :P

but i was wondering myself, is there belt like equipment out there to holster mags?

I would like to kit out in this way :

I've a number of army surplus clothes, comabts etc, i msure you all now those famous german ex army shirts:)

would love to wear a shoulder holster for my pistol under my shirt, and have a belt like device to hold mags and bottles of bbs. Thats all i need tbh, think if you will the paintball mag belts, something like that.

Anyone know of these, i figure it would be better then a vest for me personally, as i can picture myself running throug hthe field, shirt flowing, wielding two m1911 :)

What's with the white gloves are they in this season? lol :D

I love my SAAV Viper vest. Have absolutely no problems with it. VERY spaceious and durable. Very comfotable also, I find it doesnt restrict mobility in the lightest.
My bro has a Molle vest and swears by it too. Very handy and customisable to one's particular needs.

like I said the the OP, handy if you can try them on, if you can get to HRTA, or Gtac have a closer look at them or, take the plunge, don't go mad on the money, it might not suit, Hate to say it, a long story!!! the south african vest looks cool, and has tons of pockets..

I'm dubious about the 'one size fits all' on eirsoft, since I'm a big lad (Usually an XXL in tshirts, 17in collar and 50-52in chest).

Anyone who's been to eirsoft/gotactical/mia/etc physical shops know who has the best range in the shop to try out?

They are. The sides are adjustable and so are the shoulder straps. Lots of room for adjustment. I take a 44 and there's plenty left.

Im 13 and a half stone and can wear the african assault vest off eirsoft very easily with a load of room for it to be extended even larger.,:)

    Sweet, cheers man.

Now I just need to find an extra-large helmet for my ginormous cranium.

(Honestly, you'd swear airsoft gear was designed for midgets :-))

It's all these brains I tells ya.

eirsoft's website is busted (won't let me add an address) so I'll probably take a run up to them at the weekend.
