HELP! What's wrong with my DVR?

Turned on tv and DVR this morning and nothing, no digital, no anologue, just nothing. Switched off, rebooted several times, still no luck. Normally you can hear it loading but completely dead. Even if the DVR was turned off before I was still able to get anologue but not this time. Dragged everything out, tried different scart lead but it made no difference.
The scart is going from tv to DVR, the white cable connected. However there is a black cable plugged into the DVR but not connecting to anything on the other end. How many cables go into the DVR?
Suggestions very much appreciated. as I really only want to ring UPC as a last resort.
By the way it's not the tv as I've plugged the white cable into it, so at least I have anologue

Try connecting a calbe from your cable point o your wal directly to your TV to se if the analogue channels are there.

If they are then you have a problem with either your cabling or your Digital signal has been turned off.

If the analogue channels are not therethen check with a neighbour to see if theri service is impacted and contact UPC with the information to hand 1908

I connected the cable from the wall point to the tv and have anologue channels. I have normal digital in another room and that's working fine.
How many cables go into the back of the DVR? Seems to me the problem lies with the DVR unless I pulled out a cable by mistake:(

The only cables you need for it to operate are the mains cable, the co-ax cable input (forget what it's labelled - RF in or cable in?), and the SCART cable. Make sure the SCART cable is connected properly at both ends - they can go loose easily.

Is there any response from the DVR? Do the lights or display come on at all on the front panel?

No response whatsoever from the DVR, no red light, have tried everything that has been suggested. Seems it's completely dead, will ring them tomorrow.

If it's completely dead, i.e. no lights at all on the display, or whirring noise from the hard drive spinning, then just check the fuse in the plug. Seems like it's not getting power at all.

It was completely dead and has now been replaced by UPC.
