Recently my computer has been running poorly,
I click on Mozilla and it takes ages to start up. Switching tabs in mozilla/windows, is not as smooth as it used to be.

Basically My computer needs to be sorted out, i believe there is something terribly wrong with its performance rate. My computer is VERY SLow these days! Its slow the first 15-20 mins after my computer Starts up. Around 30 mins after its started up its much better but still not so smooth!

Is there anything in these processes(picture below) that shouldnt be there?? it says computer usage is at 100%, that can't be right!??:rolleyes:

That's a hell of a lot of running processes! click Start -> run -> type msconfig -> hit OK -> uncheck everything under the startup tab and reboot. Any difference?

Eh, no you don't. It is optional to donate. The message you posted in the image just means that you made changes in the msconfig options earlier.

You may also want to do a virus scan and defrag your drive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,164 ✭✭✭BaRcOe

Needs to be defragged, doesn't make a massive difference though. Download adaware, update definitions run then remove anything it finds. Then run a complete virus scan.

Most if not all P2P applications will leave you wide open to a virus attack....it's a bit like Russian roulette.

Get rid of bearshare if you have that too.
Try shutting down a few programs that run on start up.

Start - Run - "msconfig" - "Startup" tab and unclick any programs there that you know arnt needed on start up.

Realscheduler, Limewire, MSN messenger (unless you use it).
There are loads of programs like these that when you install them they automatically load on start up.
