Is it possible to do a gas conversion on the V8 merc ? Fuel consumption sounds a bit rough on the pocket otherwise.

LPG is almost impossible to get here these days. A couple of years ago, I imported a Pagoda that could only run on LPG. At that time, there were only two places in Dublin stocking gas, one in D8 and one up the mountains. When the one in D8 shut down, I had the kit removed.

15-20 years back it was the sensible option for big Mercs. There was a spike in interest a few years back with Dual-Fuel cars but it never took off here.

There is a supplier not far from me so I am wondering is there much of a cost saving ?
Maybe that system you took out is for sale then ?

Will it fit an sl merc ?

    Much problem fitting it ?

The kit wouldn't fit the V8 engined W107 and there isn't really any saving nowdays since the car uses much more gas to the mile than it does petrol !

It doesn't make sense to have a gas kit anymore !

You'r dead right mercmad, checked the price of gas in the local station that has it and its now 109 cent per litre, would not make sense converting.
