Vincent Clerc out for 9 months with ligament damage picked up against Clermont. Terrible, terrible shame.. A great rugby player and a fantastic finisher, has been a real thorn in the side of irish rugby in recent times. I'm sure Munster fans will be secretely thanking the powers that be for this one though.

Price on Munster to win the tournament has dropped from 11-8 joint favourites to evens. Perhaps it is because I'm Irish but I am very uncomfortable seeing prices like that, it make me feel very nervous indeed :( .

I presume it is because of a combination of news of Clercs injury and Toulouse and Saracens both losing at the weekend.

Whats the story with Dusautoir, if he went off with concussion doesn't he have to take an enforced three week break from the game and so will miss the semi. Although nowadays most teams seem to find ways around that rule, probably put it down to cramp or something on the report ;)

9 months should leave him with enough time to recover for his obligatory destruction of Ireland.

I've cursed his name so much in recent years - but that was always out of respect. What a class player. Get well soon Vincent.

Six months according to BBC. Still, sad to hear - a great player. Apparently his knee actually separated from its socket.

That would be kind of difficult, seeing as the knee isn't a ball and socket joint ;)

Hah... just quoting that link. I'm no Biologist but I'm sure there was some nasty movement in his knee of some sorts. :pac:

Pity. Always a great player to watch. And a really good example to young kids how to play outwide.

maybe his knee cap moved one direction or another...saw that happen once....the screams out of your man

Feck, I feel weak after that...shades of G. Murphy's break. Hope the man makes a full recovery. As regards his unnecessary and unwarranted lashings of Ireland he's a big fat bell-end, but Lord I love the way the guy plays rugby. 'Genius' an overused term these days, but he's definitely got a rugby brain the size of a planet.

I have never simultaneously loved and hated a player as much as Vincent Clerc - also my stomach churned when I saw that clip. Hopefully he'll make a good recovery.
