You're bored, sitting at home with nothing to do so you dedice to go for a drive with a few friends. Where do you go on a Saturday night for a nice drive in Dublin?

I usually end up going to the same 3 places all the time..............Howth, Dublin Mountains or Dun Laoighre.

    Any suggestions?

Down to the end of the Bull Wall, into the Pheonix Park, or drive into the city centre and cruise around checking out the talent....

Bull Wall is a nice suggestion..................Phoenix Park is probably a bit dodgy.

I like the drive up past view point towards the Dublin and Wicklow mountains.......but there you can come across lads messing in cars up there if it's very late at night

Go to the road along side run way at Dublin Airport, its a good 4-5 KM stretch and you can do up and down watching aircraft landing and taking off beside you ,,,,,,,,,,,, lovely at night as well.

Dollymount (Bull Wall), Phoenix Park, the Mountains, Killiney Hill. If you venture to any of these places, whatever you do, don't leave the interior light on in your car when stationary or flash your headlights for any reason...

You wouldn't want anyone to get the wrong idea or have unwelcome visitors now would you??...;)

As ***SpiderBeast*** mentioned Phoenix Park is dodgy i would say the same actually i wouldnt advise you to go to Phoenix park. I was there in mid november parked near Yank Ambesador's gaff and within 10 mins pigs were flying over me .... they asked me all sorts of questions what was i doing there bla bla bla they searched my car and asked me to park else where.... it was a traumatic experience ...

i am sure if you will drive up and down couple of time in phoenix park specially at nite you will be pulled over and questioned like a criminal :)

    cheers
    have a gud weekend

Howth Head has good views across the bay and city at night. You can see the ferries light up arriving in the dark sea and the planes arriving into the airport overhead you.

Some fine roads out North Dubland way - did you ever try out yonder Swords direction? Blakes Cross - Lusk - Rush - Loughshinny - Skerries and back via the Lusk Road home??

Ah that's only if there's a riot happening, it's fairly quiet otherwise! The only thing ye'll see is girls walking round in their pyjama's with cans of Dutch Gold in hand.

Its only a short drive but down by the strawberry beds is lovely and heading the lucan way you can go right and up into clone, nice quite roads for the most part.

The Strawberry Beds used to be a nice drive until they installed 15 speed bumps from Castleknock to Lucan, now it is a horrible drive IMO as you are just constantly accellerating and braking every 20 seconds.

portrane beach, it's only 10 mins from Santry, and is a lovely area to sit in the car looking at the waves, or/and go for a walk along the beach or cliff.
