    HI all,

sorry if this is in the wrong place.

here's the deal, have a friend in the states picking me up an itouch for me tomorrow but i'm now considering giving him a buzz and asking him to pick me up an ihone instead.

problem is i work on a building site so phone would notbe suitable for use during the day but would really like it for the weekend and evening. Is it easy to put in the sim? Can you get two sims [same number - meteor - one for phone during the day one for iphone] . Finally is it a nightmare to setup and do you find your bill increasing much due to internet application access etc?

thanks for any replies and apologies again if this is in the wrong spot.

oh and does anyone think its just better to wait out for the second release of such hardware like an iphone?

    thanks

    macm

You'd have to sign up to a 2 year AT&T contract if he was going to buy the phone new. And sourcing one second hand in such short notice would be difficult. And considering it would only. be an "evening" phone i'd be thinking what's the point on spending the extra cash on it compared to the itouch.

no need for contract because there is plenty of hacks for other networks

wouldn't bother with the iphone, the price is dropping here on them and soon the 3g version will be out anyway. the touch would be pretty nice though

if you want everything in one device get an n95. if you dont, get a touch.

and i'd use neither on a building site.

Hang on, i thought the iphone could only be bought from apple with a 2 year contract in the states?

if i was a builder i wouldn't use any device over 100 euro on site.

it would be stupid to use an iphone/ipod touch/N95 etc on a building site.

you may also accidently use your N95 in the middle of a wall.

A newer iphone is more than likely going to be better than an old one but why does anyone care about 3G???

No need to sign up for contract. I bought iPhone from Apple store and simply told them AT&T would be of no use in Ireland. They didn't argue at all.
