i'm interested in doing temp work but have never worked in an office before (i'm a student) so I'm not sure what to expect.
What are the recruiters mainly looking for and what do the jobs entail? do they provide training?
just want to make sure that temping is for me before i throw myself into it.

Usual unskilled office work temping can be pretty, though it usually involves reception type work or data entry stuff. Though it is quite varied and the workload can vary widely from site to site. Typically they look for someone with a driving licence though it depends where you are located and the public transport available.

They usually look for a knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, that sort of thing, at a minimum. They might train you if they have their own in-house system, or if you'll be doing something specific, but otherwise it'll probably be photocopying, typing, data entry, stuff like that. It can pay pretty well, too.
