    Hi,

Does anyone know if its possible to hook the XPS 1330 into 2 monitors ?

In work I've 5 screens and they seemt o use a little adapter thingy when they run out of graphics cards. Will that work with the xps ?

Should do. Definitely dual-screen at least. With a multi-head adapter an a decent GPU I dont see why it shouldnt be possible to get 5 either.

Great, I dont really get them to be honest.

Does it matter what type of adapter I get or are they all the same

I've read (on notebookreview.com somewhere i'm sure) that the 8400gs (the non integrated graphics card you probably have in your M1330) can only display 2 screens at the same time, that means you can have one external and the laptop display (like me!) or two externals.

You can get hardware which will let you connect a few monitors out of one output but this wouldn't be a great solution for the M1330 as the 8400gs can only give out a max resolution of 1920x1200 so if you start stretching that accross a few montiors it will start looking horrible.

My advice is to get 2 24" montiors and use them instead of 5(!! what do you work at??) monitors stretched out of external hardware. Why 24"? Because most 24" montiors have a native resolution of 1920x1200 which is the max the 8400gs card can handle so there's no point going bigger.

I love my setup with my M1330, I have a Samsung 245bw 24" montior running at 1920x1200 with my webbrowser or game running on it and then the laptop display showing utorrent or my media player beside it. I'd take another 24" montior but I don't need it at all really.

    Just my 2c.
