Given some of the over zealous modding, backseat modding and Sig-PO`ing Ive come to the conclusion an awful lot of you would cause a good old traditional workplace shooting spree if I had to listen to you/share a workplace with you. So in that vein, how many people here are by the book in work, every rule, and how many let things slide?

Work in a bank personally, some co workers are cool, others are the types of idiots who would attempt to cause the customer endless grief and hassle because he signed up for a service or loan under the name Joe or Jim Smith when his ID gives his name as Joseph or James. Things like that really really fcuking get me. I occasionally make a "mistake" to make the life of either myself or the customer easier (typically something I know either wont be found out or that I can claim was an honest mistake). Just to cut the red tape wherever I can, and I cant understand people who dont. A bit like a young cop who caught us drinking behind a church one night years back, said he would leave us to it if there was no trouble but if there was one bit of noise or hassle he would come down like a ton of bricks on us.

    So, how about ye?

Oh only in a Homer Simpson Im not actually interacting with customers scenario.

Being a red tape tied dick is exactly the yank way of doing things.

Don't feel bad about it, the feeling is more than mutual.

Nope. Never. It's not worth the hassle, because if something does go wrong, i'll catch it in the neck, not the customers who can't fill out a form properly.

And i wouldn't see any of the leaping to my defense.

Definitely nice and easy, it doesn't have to mean cutting corners. I hate people that can't think outside the box and stick to the rules even when it only complicates things. Sometimes all that's needed is a little common sense.
