That's the way it rolls, I still don't see any issues with reaching the playoffs. We haven't done too badly with losing players this season and while we have no first round pick, it should be ok - I expect some padding in weaker areas come the 2nd and 3rd rounds.
Hey look at the Giants last season - a tough regular season gave them the edge come playoff time IMO.

Edit: I expect a return of vintage Manning this season. His rep as best QB in the game has taken a hit from Brady and there are some points to prove.

I don't see the difficulty for the Colts in the schedule, its not that tough.
I'm a Pats fan and I admit I hate the Colts but I am analytical when I look at a schedule and I don't see them going any worse than 11-5 but expect them to go a lot better than that. I'd expect them to lose no more than three from their schedule unless they end up like last year with no receivers available.

I'm a Colts Fan. The schedule may look difficult now, but we don't know how teams are going to perform in the upcoming season.

A game that seems like it could be difficult now may turn out to be easier when it arrives, based on how the opponent is performing next season.

An example is Baltimore last season. Before the season started nobody would have wanted to play a 13-3 team. They finished with 11 defeats.

So many things can affect a season, so we don't really know how hard the schedule is going to turn out.

We should have Harrison back too. Considering we spent most of last season without him, this is all good.

looking at all these posts and i have to agree, anything can happen and the colts are capible of beating any team if they focus

The Colts are probably getting the schedule they deserve, as you would expect the top teams to get a harder schedule. The issue shouldn't be how tough the Colts schedule is, but rather how easy the Patriots schedule is, but then again a large part of the reason why the Patriots schedule is so soft is that the AFC East is very weak at present, so the Patriots can virtually chalk up six wins even before the season starts.

For the record, the Raiders had the number one pick in the draft last year and yet they were then faced with the third toughest schedule based on the previous year, while this coming season they face the third easiest schedule(largely due to a slump in the Broncos and Chiefs), when drafting in fourth place.

yeah id mentioned that, i just think that its not right (forgeting the divisions) that the patriots have such an easy schedual compared to the colts

i'm a colts fan myself and i do think that they got a rough deal with the schedule but they will still make the playoffs. you would have to laugh at the pats moaning about having to play the colts away again this season. i do think the pats could very well go 16 and 0 again if they get the results against the likes of the colts.

Surely this is just the way the schedule works, and there is no agenda here. As a Colts fan and someone who never bought into the 'invincible' Patriots lark I don't have a problem with a tough schedule at this stage. As I said in the other thread Colts may find it difficult to win the division and get into the playoffs against strong Jaguars.

As long as those zebras are above board for everyone to enjoy next season and may the best teams win fairly over the course of the year.....

Exactly, the schedule is worked out years in advance by a formula, the only fixtures not determined in advance are the games against the teams from the same conference who finished in the same position in their respective divisions (which is why the Pats and Colts play every year). No agenda at all, the Pats schedule is skewed by the crappy Jets and Dolphins seasons last year. There's no guarantee that bad teams last year will be bad teams this year so the strength of schedule thing is a bit misleading.

Exactly. If you compare the AFC East to the AFC South - 3 of the playoff teams were from the AFC south. Even the Texans (8-8) did better than the Bills (7-9) in second place. So there's no way the Colt's can avoid a tough draw.
It's the same with the Cowboys in the NFC. Giants and Redskins twice a season, as well as the other top NFC teams.
