Can any one recommend a good physio who might have some expirence of biking related problems. I am having problems of anterior knee pain and want see if there is a way I can solve it.

I suspect that it might be my racing bike being to big for me leading to a bad posture, but I just want to make sure it is not something more serious before I splash out on a new racing bike.

Would be better if they were in south dublin near rathfarnham but dont mind travelling if they come highly recommended.

    Knee Pain: Common Causes

    Saddle too high

    Grinding in high gears

knee joint persistently exposed to cold when cycling

    New cleats or shoes

There are others but a minor combination of these can lead to pain

Some sizing theory FWIW when you get going again

It's worth a read - may be something in the saddle height and crank section

Another sizing link (posted before) I found it fairly accurate for me - might give a hint as to what's not right

Wishing you a speedy recovery - I'ld hate to be laid up just as the days are getting longer and warmer

Paul Tansey who works over Joe Daly's shop in Dundrum is very highly regarded. He has worked with pro's including Stephen Roche with the Fagor team in the late 80's.
I know Mark McCabe who races is a physio but not sure where he's based. It might be Malahide. I went to him with shoulder trouble a few years ago and found him very good.

Garreth Farrelly in Physio dynamics in Dundrum town centre is a fantastic physio. Specialises in Sports injuries.

Injuries to front of your knee can be very hard to heal (just from seeing and treating injuries like this)

Better to get it checked before it gets too bad, sounds a might be to do with an imbalance of your thigh muscles which could be pushing pressure down on to the articular cartilage, however without actually treating it I couldn't be sure.

Hope it heals up ok for you. :D

I've heard good things about Mark Sexton in Stoneybatter too, but haven't tried him. I'ev used Dublin Spine and Sports Centre in Portobello. They have a bunch of physios there and have found them all good.
