96FM's Bit Rate

Why is that Corks 96 Fm’s Bit rate has dropped to 16 kbps along with some more of the UTV group of radio stations. It can’t be the cost of the bandwidth surely when some of the “The Pirate Stations” around the country are bit casting up to 128 kbps. The sound now from 96FM sounds worse than the days of Radio Luxemburg when…

Why is that Corks 96 Fm’s Bit rate has dropped to 16 kbps along with some more of the UTV group of radio stations. It can’t be the cost of the bandwidth surely when some of the “The Pirate Stations” around the country are bit casting up to 128 kbps. The sound now from 96FM sounds worse than the days of Radio Luxemburg when they were on 1440khz medium wave when those of can remember under the bed covers with our transistor radio and the constant fading and interference. Happy Days!!!
