Torrevieja - to go or not to go!

    Hi there

    I've been offered free accomodation in Torrevieja this August and I can't decide whether ot not to go... I would love to go on a bit more of a sightseeing holiday but all the places I want to see will be roasting in August so I'm thinking a lazy sun holiday might be better this year. ideally I'd like to do Italy (Rome and Venice) and Croatia but I just think it'll be too hot to be doing a lot of touristy walking around and stuff like that!

    I know that by the time we add on the cost of food and car rental it might not turn out much cheaper than your average package holiday but I like the idea of having our own house so if we just want to chill out it's not like we're comfined to hotel bedrooms.

    What is Torrevieja like as a holiday destination and can anyone suggest things that we might be able to do in the area. We'll be a group of 4 in our 20s.
