Broken DS

Has anyone had any experience of having these things fixed?

Can they be, who fixes them and how much?

Its my daughters so it has probably been dropped a few times and god knows what else.

It will now not turn on or charge - no obvious signs of damage.

Is it a DS lite?

Orange light doesnt come on when charging?

Can you hear a small rattle when you shake it?

If you answered yes to all of the above i can more than likely fix it(I'd have to see it to know for certain what the problem is) I also wouldn't charge very much for it no more than a €10 + Postage if its the problem i think it is.

I bought a DS lite in Smyths and I broke it some months later by accident. As it was under warranty they almost more or less replaced it no questions asked. very relived.

i recently sent mine off to nintendo when my Speakers stopped working

a courier actually came to my house, picked it up and sent it off free of charge!!

then a week i just got it back yesterday

i think its free if you live in the republic of ireland

you see, nintendo use the serial no. on the back of the DS to track when the DS was sold, but they dont have the system up and running in ireland yet, so they dont know if your DS is in warrenty still or not

therefore free repairs, and excellent service

in england minor repairs are £30, and major repairs £50, they ask you if your willing to pay before starting repairs

Unfortunately it looks like the missus chucked the proof of purchase so they will charge me (BTW - I NEVER throw away receipts).

it doesnt matter!! my DS was 2 months out of warranty, and i didnt have a receipt

a courier just showed up at my door, took the DS, and a week later i got it back in the post, free of charge, no one asked for a receipt
