I've had computer about 5 years and originally had Norton Anti-virus which I haven't paid for in about three but it still seemed to be running a basic package. My computer slowed down so decided to remove some files I removed Norton Anti-virus and Norton internet security and installed AVG Free software and Spybot, should this be enough protection to cover me?

    That's exactly what I've done.

from what I've seen - the general opinion is there is nothing that Norton can do that AVG or Avast can't do.

I also installed Zone Alarm Firewall (free) and switched off Windows Defender.
