    Hi all,

I have a Business Head Unit (made by Becker) - that has a faulty channel.
I need to either get it repaired or swap out another head unit

Does anybody know if there is any coding going on?
As in, can i swap in another e46 head unit without any problems?

    Thanks,
    Keith.

No coding necessary, no code blocking the radio when disconnected either on BMWs. Swap away.

Anybody know if a faulty channel is repairable???

As replacement head units are bloody expensive (even second hand)!

Swap it out for an aftermarket unit, much better quality, more up to date features and you can keep it for your next car.

...and destroy the looks of the interior.

I have a business headunit (cassette) you can have for free if you want.

I agree - you can get plates to fit standard size stereo - but looks bloody awful!!! Of course there are better quality head units out there - but don't want the dash's look ruined!

Thanks for the offer of the cassette unit - I might yet take you up on that offer - will look around a bit longer and see what happens!!

I have seen the units for sale on eBay with sellers based in the US

Does anybody know if these units would be ok to use?? I'm thinking maybe the radio frequencies are different?

The headunits are switchable between US and Europe...
