    Hi Guys,

I just wanna throw this out to other network admins. Out of Symantec, AVG and Nod32, which are you using in the corporate environment? And in your personal opininion, which do you think is the best and why?

    cheers,

    Sed

I am a network admin for a large multi national and we use Symantec Corporate edition, currently we use Symantec Client Security version 10, we are piloting Symantec 11 (Endpoint) at the moment with plans to roll out towards the end of this year.

I think Symantec is a pretty good antivirus tool, as long as you keep the virus definitions up todate. However you do have to upgrade the version releases from time to time, because some virus have found weaknesses in some versions. Symantec Client Security comes with a good firewall client which is pretty versatile, and can be configured by policy files and then rolled out to multiple clients in one go.

My personal problem with Symantec is that it can take a long time to update and show you accurate information in its System centre console. Another problem corporations can face is with corrupt definition files coming down, this can be time consuming to clean out of their systems.

I have used AVG as a stand alone client and found it is okay. The SAV client stand alone is also okay.

I would not have much experience with other Antivirus suites.

    Also using Symantec v10.

I would like to move to NOD32 but in my environment is a very hard thing to change from Symantec, although we will be pushing this towards the end of the year. I find Symantec to be very bloated its a big install and a pain to push out to new clients, I also dislike the Management Console.
