    morning Guys,

just looking to see if anyone has any ideas on this one.

I have to wear a mouth piece at night for a jaw problem but its making my lips really dry and sore.

I have a problem with my lips anyway in the sense that if i put vaseline and such like on them, it comes off within a few minutes.

Anyone got any ideas on how to keep them moist as they are really painful now!

    cheers

Don't use Vasoline or Labello ,etc - they're addictive. I had a problem with them for a few years - my lips were dependant on them.
Then someone recommended Burts Bees, as it's totally natural, and it gives the same relief, but my lips don't crave it 24/7 anymore!

I would suggest Blistex - it's really good for split lips, and Carmex for softness.
I put Carmex on at night sometimes because it'll stay longer on your lips than other lip balms. Both can sting a bit but I find they work.

Does your mouth piece mean your mouth is open all night? That would cause your lips to dry out, like when you have a cold and have to breathe through your mouth. Drink lots of water and try out lots of different lip balms

+1 for Carmex, its brilliant. Also make sure you're drinking enough water during the day and that your bedroom isn't too hot.

Don't see how vaseline can come off if it's on thick enough and you're not rubbing at it... Leave it on overnight in really thick layers.

They use it on the lips of people who are intubated in the hospital. If it works for them I'm sure it'd work for you.

During the day just keep applying the lip balm and once they're healed you won't need to do anything to them during the day, just keep lots and lots of vaseline on them overnight.

Hi i find the best thing is elizabeth arden 8 hour cream.
Stays on for ages and lips are really soft the next day.
