Changing a name on a ticket with Ryanair

Our club are travelling to Belguim on the May BH weekend to take part in a sporting event. The return flight is booked for 10 people however 1 person can't go and we were hoping to change the name on his ticket as someone else can go in his place. According to the website this can be done by ringing the number 0818303030. I was trying this all day yesterday and can't get through to it. Has anyone any advise? Can I change the name online ans the flights were booked online. How much will it cost as it is a return flight?

You can do it in the airport, but fear not Ryanair will screw for 35E (that's what I got shafted for anyway) before they pickpocket you at the weighing scales, that's each way IIRC - Gangsters

Its actually €100 to change the flight name and it has to be changed for both legs of the journey. Its might be cheaper to book a new flight. If the 0818 number doesn't work try 01-2497791, if that doesn't work I've no idea.

PS. if you know anyone who works there they might be able to change the names FOC, I got it done a couple of times but my mate doesn't work there anymore.

It says on the website that it is 25 euro to change the name for a one way flight so I was expecting around 50 euro for the return flight?
It aslo says that it has to be done at least 4 hours in advance so doing it at the check-in is out I'd say
    Can I do it online?

This page details all the charges and available options for making changes.

The name change fee is €100 as was mentioned above. You cannot make the change online.

Thanks, so would that be 200 euro for a return flight?
Also these flights were booked online, is it cheaper to do a name change when it is booked online?

Its €100 to change a name on a single booking (same reference number), so whether you booked a return or a single, it would still be €100 per passenger.

Still the same charge whether it was booked online or via the call centre.

Thanks a lot. If only I could get through to their damn customer services now I would be sorted, they are alway engaged

Surely it is cheaper to book a new return flight to Charleroi?

Ryanair charged me 40 euro just for correcting surname!!!!!!!
It took me over 15 min to call to customer service phone, she threatened me that my son could not make check in if I will not pay and change it!
It was a single letter mistake .
She said they usually charge 150 pound but It is only a small mistake so they can charge 40. This is scum! Feck
Be aware people I heard Ryanair charges even for toilet 1 pound!
    I am really pissed off.

I would never ever fly with Ryanair again, they just lost one enthusiastic customer!

This was just clever marketing and they do not charge to go to the toilet on board, they talked about it and the entire global media made a story out of it giving Ryanair millions of euro worth of publicity for free! As for the typographical error, that was your own fault and down to sloppy typing. The last thing I do before I move on a page when booking something is re-read everything to check for mistakes, in future I recommend you do this! and as for the €40 you were lucky and people have often been charged the full whack. Play by Ryanair's rules and you'll be grand otherwise you are in for a crash course with the good book of mick.

    Btw, welcome to boards.ie!

They didn't make the spelling mistake, though....

There's a Ranting and Raving forum for posts like this. It would fit right in.

Also, please don't drag up old threads.

My girlfriend booked a flight with the infamous ryanair today and made a one letter typo in her surname, would it be better, in the forum's opinion to pay for a name change or to hedge our bets? and is there a definite reduction on the name change fee in anybody's experience if the mistake is only one letter?

Seeing as you did a search to drag this up you would have found others that confirm it's not a problem. You can call Ryanair's call centre and they'll make the change free of charge most likely or you can leave it and chances are nobody will notice/care.

Again, please don't drag up old threads.
