The picture is mad jerky (best I can describe it). It was fine earlier today. Came home from work just now and switched it on. Put the news on and even the slight movement of the presenter was jerky. It's like most of the frames are missing. Turned over to a football match and it's a disaster. The ball and the players are in one positon one second and in another position some distance away the next second. I've had a look at the settings and they seem ok. Anybody any ideas? It's a 46X3000.

I assume the source is a TV signal? Perhaps try a DVD and see is the problem common to other sources. If so then it's something with the TV if not perhaps it could be your TV signal.

Anyway at least this might rule in/out some things.

    Fingers crossed it's something simple!

    Have you got Sky?
Might be worth a planner rebuild.
And like majj suggested, try a different source to eliminate source problem.

Be sure and let us know how you get on.

This is going to sound mad , but was it cold when you came in , and did the picture improve after a while ?

Ive seen that problem on some sonys but its a warm up thing , strange I know , but it does happen.

Source was Sky. It was grand again this morning so I'll wait and see if it happens again.

Edit: I was colder than it's been for a couple of weeks all right. Watched it for about half an hour but didn't see any improvement. If it does happen again I'll try a DVD. See if it can be narrowed down to Sky. I remember now that the night before the Sky box crashed, just powered itself off.

    Definitely the Sky box.
Do the planner rebuild, and all should be ok.
