Try your laptop vendors website to find out if there's any hot keys that u might have hit by accident. Or your laptops manual should tell u what hot keys it has.

when i hit back space the f11 function changes the screen view
totally confused
checked out hp.ie also and nothing about hotkeys there!
on the directional arrows
up is small o and down is 9

Connect a USB keyboard to it. See if the problem is your laptop keyboard or the computers interpretation of the Keyboard presses.
