Despite being going less than 2 months we've just had our first setback - we're losing our guitarist who has to move town due to work

we're NOT looking for anyone overly flash ( no eddie van halens etc) nor metalheadz/grunge/goths. Basically someone creative who can add nice melodic guitar lines and can help bring songs alive (if that makes sense??). Would be cool if you could also play bass (as our double bass player sometimes switches to violin) - and if you could play any other instruments / vocal ability that would be a real bonus (but not a neccesity). We like unusual instruments / sounds and not just guitars...

We play original material, there's a few songwriters in the band and most of us play a few instruments. So we're currently 2 blokes and 2 ladies and age-wise we're 23-31. We're planning to do some recording and gigging in June. We're all into different music but soundwise i suppose we play elements of powerpop / indie pop-rock and chamber pop (violin, double bass and piano feature in most of the songs). Some bands we're currently listening to - badly drawn boy, deus, velvet underground, harry nilsson, kevin drew, devotchka, go-betweens, kronos quartet, los campesinos, radiohead, counting crows. We don't have any demos done but you can find some very rough rehearsal recordings and some of my home demos up here -

We've only been going less than 2 months so would be a good time to join and help form the sound and direction. We're nice folks and we're quite ambitious about making this work so commitment and enthusiasm is needed. We're based in Dublin and rehearse once/twice a week.

If interested please mail reply below or mail thecrayonsetatgmaildotcom (with punctuation). Please give details of what you play, bands you like and any links to previous bands etc

    Thanks

    The Crayon Set
