    12, Various, 20 years.

Started, down to 12 in 18 months. Handicap usually 12, sometimes 13, very occasionally 11 - basically the same game for the last 18 years.
Is there any such thing as ever really making a breakthrough and improving your game? (I dont mean getting your game back on track after a winter hibernation or sabbatical - but a step change in performance).

Thanks, I only dream about playing to it most of the time. The main thing is to enjoy it and I'm sure you do aswell.

Age 24-26, Mount Wolseley (Tullow, Co. Carlow) Handicap started at 12 I think, down to 8.
Practically gave up the game from 27 to 32

Joined Gowran Park, Kilkenny aged 32, resumed at 8 handicap
Now 36 and playing off 4, dipped to 3 briefly last year.

The standard of handicap around is fantastic, I thought I was doing well with my 17, however, being a stay at home mother has limited my spare time available to practice. It is also funny to note a lot of you golfers gave up for a couple of years in your 20's. I also did that, it was when i met my husband and golf was the last thing on my mind, but its the type of game you cannot give up for long eh!

    Club - Lucan

    16 - 24: got down to 8
24 - 32: out to 13 at one point as was concentrating on football and the ladies. Played once every 6 to 8 weeks.
32 - 35: from 13 down to 9.8 (exact) and falling. Have lost .8 in the last 2 singles comps.
