Folks, What settings do I need for vodafone.ie mail setup, ie Incoming server and outgoing server etc. I'm using firmware 1.1.4. I can get Incoming mail Using 'pop.vodafone.ie', but get an error 'Cannot Send mail. The Connection to the Outgoing Server 'mail.vodafone.ie' failed'. Do I need to change the port settings or turn on SSL? Can someone please give me an idiots guide to setting it up? Thanks

The outbound settings will depend on how you connect to the internet, if you are on a Vodafone dongle you should try "smtp.vodafone.ie" (I think) or if you are on the O2 dongle (like me) use "smtp.O2.ie". If you are on Wifi you will have to get the "smtp" from the Wifi administrator

I asked vodafone the same question about sending vodafone.ie mail and they said that while i could recieve my email via my home wifi network i would have to use vodafone.isp to send.
    can anyone confirm this ?

Generally you always use the smtp server for your internet provider, so say for example you have Eircom at home and are using a WiFi phone to send a Vodafone email, the outgoing server will be Eircoms smtp server

    @ ISOT

I actually use "smtp.o2.ie" to send mails from my vodafone.ie account with my windows mobile PDA through my home wireless network connected to the net through the O2 dongle and it works for me!!

    :o
