Youtube+Scientology??

What's going on here folks? I was just watching some vids last night (for example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJV202TpGrY) and there's a huge Scientology advertisement on the page?! Youtube are now supporting this are they?? Or being paid big by the Co$ crowd?

What do you make of this?

I'd say since there're so many Youtube vids attacking the CoS, that the CoS are paying the 'tube to advertise on their site, to fight back. What it seems like to me, anyway.

It just seems like a bold move. I mean, would you advertise Co$ on your website? For a huge sike like youtube to do so, I dunno...

The same message appeared for me on Bebo a few weeks ago. I emailed them to chew them and point out that claiming concern for children's safety and promoting a cult, set up by a guy who four years beforehand stated the best way to make money was to set up a religion, don't fit.
From then until a couple of days ago, my ads were all French, funnily enough.

I love the way you type in scientology into youtube and all you get is teh anti-scientology videos.

Point of interest; Scientology were caught 2 months ago, setting up dummy companys and claiming copyright infringement on youtube to try and remove anti-Sci videos

If Scientology offered me big bucks (and let's face it, they've got money to burn) to advertise on my corporate for profit website, I wouldn't say no.

It's not like Youtube is a particularly prestigious institution that will suffer greatly from being associated with Scientology.

Your average Youtube user is unlikely to boycott the site on the basis of a scientology ad especially when there are so many anti-scientology videos allowed.

Creationists are just crazy, Scientologists are crazy AND malicious.
