    I'm trying to find a specific freelancer to offer some writing assignments to - any ideas as the newspapers will not give me contact details (as they shouldnt I know)...........

    erm... I dunno... why don't you give your contact details to a paper you know s/he writes for and ask them to pass them onto him/her.

    That way they're not giving our the freelancer's details without their permission.

    Get yourself into Eason or Waterstone's and have a peek at the Irish Media Contacts Directory. It has a freelance section and the freelancers give their speciality/focus.
