Polaroid Digital Camera, Bargain?

    Hi Guys

    Not sure where i should really post this (bargain requests photography....) so mods move if necessary.

    I see pixmania (who i dont particularly like buying from) are selling 8mp polaroid digital camera for 70 euros, see:

    Firstly is this a good camera? Is this a bargain? do you know of any other bargains buys for cameras

    Get in touch with Dublin Camera Exchange, George's Street, Dublin. They have a list of top brand pocket digital cameras for around €80 and up.

    Personally I would not buy a Polaroid digital camera.

    Plus I wouldn't buy from Pixmania anymore, but that's a different story! :)

    I'd be wary of battery life. With 2 AA you'll probably be changing very often. I bought a compact recently and you could barely take 2 pictures with the flash. It did use the smaller AAA size though.

    Awful cameras, I had one for a while until it broke. The battery door latch broke. Useless now.

    Polaroid filed for bankruptcy and are going down - there is no point in buying the camera.

    If I needed a camera I'd buy one, so Polaroid are gone, if you get a few years out of it you've got a bargain and if you don't, well what do you expect for €70. Besides if it quits immediately you can probably get a refund under the Sale of Goods Act.

    Issues like battery life are probably more important.

    Pixmania would be more of an issue for me, I've bought from them a few times and whilst the prices are good they can be very iffy on delivery, a package of mine sat in their depot in Holland for 2 weeks despite my repeated calls, they never managed to explain why, It would need to be an incredible deal for me to use them again.
