Can you box with contact lenses? Any pro boxers wearing contact lenses? If not does anyone know what the deal is regarding boxing after having corrective laser surgery on your eyes? Cheers.

I heard of people wearing contacts boxing, but I don't actually know anybody and as a former contact wearer I would personally have serious doubts about letting anybody do it. Too many potential complications.

I got the laser done on my eyes 12+ years ago and I've sparred plenty of times since. I can't see (ha ha) the problem there.

I sparred with contact lenses (soft dailies) for the first (and last) time last week. Needless to say one was knocked out in the first round.(I also forgot my glasses so the drive home was an adventure!!)
Many rugby players wear contacts and I also heard that Larry Holmes later in his career once fought 12 rounds with contacts.Dont know how though. Mine popped out with the first meaningful blow I took.

I'll be getting lazer surgery down the line so would also be keen to know the do's and don'ts regarding boxing after the surgery.

After lazer surgery there would be a small recovery period then you can box like anyone else, no problems..

For you IABA medical you need to have vision of 6/12 in the better and 6/24 in the other.

I never did but cheated in the medical, its bull**** really coz i can see fine in a fight i just would be able to read tiny "avbej 1234" off a doctor chart from 4 foot away
