    Hi,
Basically what we have set-up here is the phone line runs into an eircom interlink where it first enters the house, it then spreads to 3 phones and a broadband connection all on the same line. It has always been annoying that when one of the phones is hung up the connection is lost for about 10 to 20 seconds. Recently it has become a lot worse with our wireless zyxel modem. The dsl connection will be lost for anywhere between 5 mins and 2 hours after a phone is hung up. The problem is the same on another new wireless conceptronic modem.
The strange thing that I'm finding is that on a much older zyxel modem without wireless and with just one ethernet port, the dsl comes back after just a few seconds, just as it used to.
A solution to the dsl being cut to start with would obviously be best but i would settle with getting the newer modems back to just cuttng for a few seconds.
Its really confusing me how the old modem can still work normally, any help or comments greatly appreciated:)
ps. Sorry if this is the wrong forum, fell free to move if it is mods:)

Have you got microfilters on each of the phone sockets in your house? If the master socket is one of the old style ones you'll probably need one on that as well.

I'm pretty much grasping at straws myself but it sounds to me like something is interfering with the DSL signal when you hang up the phone.

what rmacm said sounds right if you have a filter on the line it could be faulty also

Can you explain this to me in a little more detail. When you say your line enters an interlink and then spreads out to 3 handset and broadband, do u mean you have an analogue phone system?

If this is the case the solution is simple, let me know on here or pm me and ill talk you through it.
