Channels available in Portugal?

I've recently bought an apartment in Portugal, which happens to have a dish on the roof.
My question is what kind of digibox do I need to receive the usual 10 odd channels you get over here on your basic NTL package e.g. RTE1, NET2, CH4, BBC1 etc, or even if its at all possible to receive these in Portugal?
    Any ideas greatly appreciated!

The footprint for Astra2d which has most of the interesting fta channels (BBC, ITV etc)doesnt cover Portugal. So the further north and the bigger the dish the better your chance. RTE/TV3 are not FTA only available on a Sky sub.

This site has reports of people getting FTA channels on a 1m dish as far south as Lisbon.

Much further down you would probably need a huge dish.
The situation may change slightly as the Freesat service is launched but I doubt it will make a big difference to coverage.

If you get a Sky subscription and bring the card and box to Portugal you could likely get most of the Sky package channels.
They would probably be on the south beam so you mght have to do some trickery with the default transponder to get them recognised.

Depends of course if the dish is pointed at Astra 1 or 2 or Hotbird and size of dish. If its an apaartment block built for renting to foreigners, most likely it is pointnig to Astra 2 and as Wil said, you're away for road!
