    Hi Folks,

I have an external 2.5" USB HDD that is not being recognised when I plug it into the computer. I have tried it on OS-X, Linux and several windows machines but its not even showing up as being connected. I can hear it spinning up and see the LED light for power when I plug it but nothing.

This happened after a knock (yes I know HDD's and movement of any kind do not play well together) but the knock was no more than it has gotten before. I dont think its a headcrash coz I dont hear any scraping etc but all suggestions as to what I could try next coz Im a bit stumped.

    Dave
